Kitchen Doors Care and Maintenance Guidelines

Kitchen Doors in Timber

Timber kitchen doors should be cared for in the same way as a piece of quality furniture. Under normal circumstances kitchen doors should be cleaned with a clean, slightly damp, non abrasive cloth. It is recommended that any cooking splashes be wiped off kitchen doors immediately. For more persistant soiling a mild solution (not exceeding 5%) of non abrasive houshold detergent and luke warm water should be used. Diluted sugar soap may also be used in accordance with the manufactures instructions. Once cleaned, the kitchen doors should be wiped over with a damp cloth to remove any excess and finally dried with a soft clean cloth. Solvent or abrasive cleaning solutions should be avoided as they will damage the kitchen doors surface. The use of a good quality wax based polish will further enhance the appearance of the doors.
NOTE: Newly plastered rooms should be left to environmentally stabilise before storage and installation of kitchen doors.

Kitchen Doors in High Gloss

Most marks can be removed using a clean, soft, damp cloth. More persistent marks can be removed using a solution of 50% methylated spirits with 50% lukewarm water. Once cleaned the gloss kitchen doors should be wiped over with a damp cloth to remove any excess and finally dried with a soft, clean cloth. Solvent or abrasive cleaning solutions should be avoided as they will damage the kitchen doors surface.
